Tripti Nigam, wife of Gaurav Nigam of Lucknow, filed the case in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s court here on October 30 through her counsel Nand Lal Jaiswal. The case will be heard on November 2.

Jaiswal said she had sought Rs 50,000 per month from her husband as maintenance allowance, as he was drawing a salary of Rs 4 lakh per month. She has also sought permission to stay in her husband’s houses in Lucknow and Bangalore.

Tripti had earlier accused Gaurav, his father Vedprakash Nigam and mother Shobha Nigam of harassing her for dowry. A complaint in this regard was registered with the Gwaltoli police station here a few months ago.

Jaiswal said the in-laws could not be arrested, as they obtained a stay order from the High Court.
