Senior Congress leader Satyadev Tripathi said with the Centre's written permission, there was no hindrance now in allowing aerial fogging for which the party had already made available a helicopter.

The chopper, parked at Furstganj airport, was awaiting order from the Rae Bareli administration for the past 10 days.

The letter, written by Health and Family Welfare Secretary Prasanna Hota, said as per WHO advice, aerial fogging on a limited scale to gain access to difficult terrain would be in order.

It called for directing the Rae Bareili District Magistrate to permit spraying in non-inhabited areas in the morning and evening for a day or two.

The copies of the letter had been sent to Principal Secretary (Health) Siddharth Barua and DM Rae Bareili besides UPCC president Salman Khursheed.
