UP minister's son goes missing

The son of newly sworn-in Uttar Pradesh minister Bhagwati Sharan Gangwar has been reportedly missing for the past two days, police said today

The son of newly sworn-in Uttar Pradesh minister Bhagwati Sharan Gangwar has been reportedly missing for the past two days, police said on Monday.

Gangwar's son Atul (35) went missing from an ashram situated on the UP-Uttarakhand border last Saturday, SP Mahesh Mishra said.

Atul, who was staying at the Belagiri Ashram situated on the Najibabad-Kotdwara border since March 15, had gone for a walk in the nearby forests from where he went missing.

A joint search operation has been launched by the UP and Uttarakhand police to trace the whereabouts of the missing son, Mishra said.

Elected from the Nawabganj constituency in Bareilly district, Gangwar was was recently sworn-in as a minister of state in the Akhilesh Yadav government.
