Union Ministers Raghuvansh Prasad Singh (RJD) and Dayanidhi Maran (DMK) are the other members of the panel appointed by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to look into the separate statehood demand.

The meeting comes in the wake of persistent demands by Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief and Union Labour Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao to take an early decision on his demand.

Rao has also met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi, besides Mukherjee in recent times.

The committee's report is crucial for taking a decision on separate Telangana demand by the ruling coalition.
