THE UPPCL management’s ‘unique’ decision, to post AP Mishra, executive engineer, Noida, as executive engineer Mela in Allahabad, may get stuck in the legal wrangle.
Lal Singh Rakesh, who was already posted as executive engineer, Mela, has challenged Mishra’s posting in his place, in the Allahabad High Court. The Court has asked the management to explain why Mishra was posted. The hearing scheduled for tomorrow.
The UPPCL had given the lucrative assignment to Mishra, thought to be a Kumbh expert, in view of the ‘Ardh Kumbh, being held in Allahabad by December-end. However, Corporation’s order is said to be unique in the sense that it did not post any one in place of Mishra at Noida. The order said that Mishra would again take over as executive engineer, Noida after the ‘Ardh Kumbh’ was over. It means, the post of the executive engineer’ Noida, will remain vacant for around two months, till the Kumbh is over.
Upset about his transfer from Allahabad at a time when the ‘Ardh Kumbh’ was to be held there, executive engineer, Mela, Lal Singh Rakesh challenged UPPCL’s order in the High Court for replacing him by Mishra. Sources said Rakesh wanted that he should be posted in Noida as long as Mishra was posted in Allahabad.
Since posting in Noida is a highly ‘rewarding’ assignment, especially under the present set-up, Mishra has made it sure that nobody was posted in Noida so that he might take the charge there again, after the Mela was over, said sources.
