BOMBARDMENT AT the Shia shrine in Iraq was the handiwork of the US government and was aimed at creating a rift between the Shia and Sunni Muslims, said Maulana Razi Haider.
He was addressing a large gathering of Shia Muslims assembled at Chak Mosque to offer the Friday Namaz.
He said, US imperialists aimed at dividing the Muslim community and ultimately attacking Iran over the Nuclear issue.
He exhorted Muslims to exercise restraint and defeat the evil designs of Americans.
Later, a peaceful procession was taken out from the venue of meeting, which after passing through Zero road, Ganta Ghar, Kotwali, Khuldabad and Mirza Ghalib road terminated at 'Arab Ali Khan ka Imambara' at Dariyabad.
Prominent among those who led the procession were Shafkat Hussain 'Pasha' and Maulanas of various mosques.
Later, addressing a press conference, Mahboob Ahmed, president, Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat justified the Fatwa against the Danish cartoonist who had committed sacrilege against Islam. He demanded that the guilty person be handed over to a Muslim nation where they could be tried according to Islamic laws.

He called upon Muslims to observe 'Black Day' on President Bush's arrival to India.
He strongly condemned UPA government for voting against Iran on the nuclear issue under US pressure. Iran, he asserted, was far more important to us as an ally economically and otherwise than US and the government has committed a blunder toeing the US line.
The government will have to atone for its sins or else the Muslims will not back it. Mahboob Ahmed also demanded restoration of minority status for Aligarh Muslim University, which he said was created by the members of the minority community for their welfare.
