US is considering participation in India's moon mission and collaborating in the telemedicine sector.

The US is considering to participate in India's moon mission and collaborating in the telemedicine sector.

"India is working on a mission to moon. We are looking at collaborations with India in this," Dr Lee Morin, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Science at the US Department of State, Bureau of Oceans and International Environment and Scientific Affairs and a NASA astronaut, told reporters here at the 92nd session of the Indian Science Congress.

"US is also looking at collaboration in the area of telemedicine," he said.

On the issue of collaboration in aerospace medicine, the topic on which he delivered a lecture later, he said India has an institute working in the area of aerospace medicine in Banaglore, which is providing support to Indian space programme.

"I had discussions with Indian Council of Medical Research Director General N K Ganguly in this regard," he said.

Elaborating on the problems being faced by astronauts, he said when astronauts are back from a space journey, they tend to slide out of their bed the next morning, thinking they are still in space.

"This happens because in space, astronauts are used to sliding due to zero gravity," he said
