THE DEPUTY Director, Animal Husbandry, Allahabad division has directed the chief animal husbandry officer to intimate every animal hospital in Allahabad district to stop using 'Inrosin' medicine till further orders.
This decision has been taken due to apprehension that the medicine is infected with fungus.
The hospitals will also have to preserve the stock of the medicine, which could not be used so far.
It may be recalled that the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) City RP Singh had conducted raid on the Animal Husbandry hospital situated at Zero Road on Tuesday and sealed 11 vials, which were infected with fungus.
The ADM took this step following a complaint made by Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Ehsan Siddiqi that injections being used at the hospitals were containing fungus.
Dr J N Pandey informed the ADM that these injections were supposed to be returned by the chief animal husbandry officer. However, the condition of these injections was not mentioned in the stock register.
On the other hand, chief animal husbandry officer Dr US Katiyar said that medicines, including these injections, were purchased in March and after a report about it being infected the use of these injections was not allowed.
