UTI Bank launches credit card on Visa platform

The new-generation private sector banking major UTI Bank on Thursday launched its credit cards on the Visa platform.

The cards would initially be available to customers in Mumbai and will be rolled-out across the country soon, the bank said in a statement in Mumbai on Thursday.

The bank has launched its card in four —Gold, Silver, Gold Plus and Silver Plus.

In addition to the standard credit card features, UTI Bank's cards will have attractive features such as complimentary flight vouchers, discounts on hotels, a comprehensive insurance package and fuel surcharge waivers.

Gold Plus cardholders will get a guaranteed 50 per cent discount at 120 hotels across the country while Silver Plus ones will be entitled to a 10-50 per cent discount at 1,500 hotels worldwide.

An air accident insurance of Rs 20-lakh for Gold Card holders is available along with a zero lost card liability, pesonal accident policy, purchase protection and loss of baggage/passport.

The same benefits are also available to add-on cardholders.

The bank also plans to launch its Platinum card variant soon and these cards will have an embedded chip and will be EMV compliant which will offer additional security against card frauds.
