Johad
In the upper reaches of the Indo Gangetic plains, one of the traditional harvesting systems is the johad, which is basically a series of tanks connected to each other by nullas or channels. These channels could be on the surface or below it. Good examples are found in Kandhla in Muzaffarnagar in UP.
