The inspection panel includes Syed Basher Ahmed Shah, Zahoor Ahmed Mir, Shafi Ahmed Wani, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah and Abdul Razaq Wagay, and all MLAs.

"While no Hindu is allowed to inspect the working and facilities of any Muslim shrine or Waqf Board in the state (they are not even employed there), Muslim members of legislature are being pushed in to look into the affairs of sacred Hindu shrines," said Bajrang Dal Chalisa chief Rakesh Sharma, in a memorandum submitted to chief minister Omar Abdullah.

The Dal said that this initiative of the state government was "an attempt to interfere in the conduct of organisations handling Hindu pilgrimages and shrines in Jammu and Kashmir", and warned the state government to "desist from any such nefarious plan or be ready to face the resentment of Hindu community".

It has also come to our notice that the Shrine Board, Katra, has been asked to make arrangements for these legislators. "SMVDSB is a Hindu Shrine Board and its money can't be spent for facilitating other communities," said Dal's activists.

"We request the CM to ask his legislators to desist from interfering into the affairs of Hindu community," said Rakesh.
