Vanity number goes for Rs 1.75 lakh

In a highest-ever bid in Jammu and Kashmir, the state government sold a number plate at Rs 1.75 lakh in Jammu district on Saturday.

In a highest-ever bid in Jammu and Kashmir, the state government sold a number plate at Rs 1.75 lakh in Jammu district on Saturday.

"The registration number JK02BD-0001 was sold in the highest-ever bid in Jammu and Kashmir at Rs 1.75 lakh in Jammu district," regional transport officer (RTO), Arvind Kotwal said.

The number plate was purchased by Harjeet Singh at a function in which a number of other people also made bids for the vanity numbers, he said.

The other vanity number JK02BD-0007 was sold to Gokul Motors at Rs 1.55 lakh and similarly the number JK02BD-1111 was sold to Vinod Sharma for Rs 1 lakh. Earlier, the registration number JK21A-0001 was sold for Rs 1.6 lakh in 2012.
