Saif, who was accused of placing a pressure cooker bomb in the busy Dashashwamedh area here, was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Ram Sudh Singh on Friday.

The bomb in the area was found and defused by the security forces just after the serial blasts at Sankatmochan temple and Cantt railway station on March 7, 2006.

Police claimed that Saif, who was arrested during the Batla house encounter in Delhi on September 19, has confessed to the crime.

Saif, hailing from Sanjarpur village in Azamgarh district, was brought to the city from Delhi as he was lodged in the Tihar jail in connection with the Delhi serial blasts.

More than 20 people were killed and over 50 injured in the twin blasts in the city.
