A separate university will soon be established in the State for governing the functioning of homoeopathy, Ayurveda and Unani colleges. If things shape according to the plans the university will also frame an uniform examination procedure in these colleges and ensure that the examinations are conducted on time.

The decision to this effect was taken at the recently held meeting of Ayurveda, Unani and Homoeopathy Advisory Committee.
The members present at the meeting were also in favour of taking immediate action to bring some more private homoeopathy, Ayurveda and Unani colleges in the State under Justice Sarin and Justice Tilhari Committee, formed to monitor the course structure and activities of private colleges approved by the Medical Education Department.
The other important decision taken at the meeting was to amend UP Homoeopathy Medical College Act 1981 to pave the way for private parties to set up more homoeopathy colleges. The monthly rent of Rs 100 granted for running government homoeopathy clinics will also be revised.
A workplan and a rough expenditure estimate will be prepared and submitted to the government for creating more posts in government homoeopathy, ayurveda and unani colleges. The posts will be created according to the laid down guidelines of CCH and CCIM, informed Director Homoeopathy Dr BN Singh.
Dr Singh said in order to create more promotion opportunities the cadre review proposal recommended by Tikku Committee for homoeopathy, Ayurveda and Unani teachers will be sent to the government for immediate action.
