Writer and scholar of Indian art Kapila Vatsyayan takes oath as an Independent member of the Rajya Sabha.

Writer and scholar of Indian art Kapila Vatsyayan on Thursday took oath as an Independent member of the Rajya Sabha.

Founder and former academic Director of the Delhi-based Indira Gandhi National Centre of Arts, she took oath in English.

Vatsyayan has been re-nominated to the Rajya Sabha.

She had resigned soon after her nomination to the Rajya Sabha last year in the wake of controversy over the Office-of- Profit issue.
