Rival skippers Michael Vaughan and Brian Lara warmed-up for the forthcoming one-day and Test series between England and West Indies with stunning centuries on Wednesday.

Vaughan hit an unbeaten 116 to lead Yorkshire to a three-wicket win over Lancashire at Old Trafford in the quarter-finals of the C and G Trophy one-day tournament.
Meanwhile, Lara smashed 106 off 99 balls, with 12 fours and four sixes, as the West Indies opened their tour with a 96-run win against Ireland in Belfast.
Vaughan, playing only his second county match this season, shared a fifth-wicket stand of 149 runs in 24 overs with Australian star Darren Lehmann, who made 62, as they successfully chased 285-6.
Earlier, former England all-rounder Dominic Cork hit an unbeaten 54 off 20 balls as he and ex-West Indies skipper Carl Hooper, with 66, put the pressure on Yorkshire.
In Belfast, Lara's 106 was the foundation for the West Indies' 242 which was too good for the Irish who were skittled out for 146 to lose by 96 runs.
Ravi Rampaul starred with the ball for the tourists taking 3 for 25 from 6 overs while Lara had rescued his side from a tricky position of 40 for 3.
