VHP, Bajrang Dal file complaint against Bhajji

A criminal complaint was lodged against Harbhajan Singh ‘Bhajji’ in Chandigarh on Friday for “hurting the religious sentiments.”

Trouble for cricketer Harbhajan Singh ‘Bhajji’ is deepening over his dance in Ravans’ attire on a TV reality show. A criminal complaint was lodged against him in Chandigarh on Friday for “hurting the religious sentiments.” Seeking Bhajji’s prosecution, two Chandigarh residents filed a complaint against him. The case has been filed under Section 298 and 120-B of the IPC.

The complainants are Global Human Rights Council (GHRC) chairperson Arvind Thakur and Vishav Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal spokesperson Vijay Singh Bhardwaj. They have threatened to approach the Punjab DGP and secretary Home department for their intervention in quashing Bhajji’s appointment as DSP in the Punjab Police. Bhardwaj has sought an apology from Mona Singh and Colors Television.
