Inaugurating the video conferencing, Dr Suri said that it should be held at least twice in a week till the projects were decided and they were submitted to the Indian Council for Agriculture Research (ICAR).

Later, the scientists should continue their interaction with the scientists at different universities once in a week through video conferencing to update their knowledge on respective subjects, he said.

About 30 scientists from institute continued interacting with two senior scientists of the NAARM for over one hour. NAARM Director Dr D Rama Rao and eminent scientist Dr BP Sharma also suggested the CSA scientists that they should prefer researches in the areas lying unexplored so far.

According to Dr Rao, researches are needed on bio-fuel, agro-bio climatologic science, and in natural resource management to open new vistas for agriculture production.

It is worth mentioning that the ICAR has invited projects from research scholars at the agriculture universities and colleges throughout the country. The Council has allocated Rs 1200 crore for promoting practical useful research projects.

According to the guidelines, the ICAR will extend funds to the projects that are field-friendly and have the potential to give new dimensions to the agriculture.

According to the Director Research at CSA Dr RP Katiyar, since there is a cutthroat competition to get the projects, it is necessary that the scientists here should submit their projects after consulting the expert scientists to avoid rejection.
