Titled ‘Fun for Vision’, the carnival will have representatives from various organisations and multinational companies. The participants, all clad in colourful fancy attires, will march and dance to the tunes of music to attract maximum number of people.

Some celebrities from Bollywood are likely to participate in the carnival.

The procession, organised by Niramaya Charitable Trust, would meander through the city on a 4.5-km route.

“The purpose of organising this event is to attract passers-by and show them maximum number of colours so that they could understand what a blind person is missing,” said Dr. TN Ahooja, president of the organisation.

The carnival will start from Gaushala ground on MG Road and move to New Railway Road.

From there, it will reach Old Railway Road and finally end at Gaushala ground.

So far more than 5,000 people have pledged to donate their eyes after death. The organisation has received 659 corneas, while 253 blind people were successfully operated.

About 2.1 million people are suffering from corneal blindness in the country.
