Students with other handicaps in upper parts of body, including cerebral palsy, will also get one hour extra time if they write papers without any help.

A notification by the board has made it clear that no extra time will be allowed to them in case they use writers. The board came out with the notification on extra time for handicapped candidates after the Bhopal district unit of the National Association for the Blind submitted a memorandum to the board.

Association secretary Uday Hatwalney, who met board secretary D D Agrawal, pointed out to him that the notifications in previous years were confusing and owing to that the visually handicapped students could not often utilise the facility provided by the board owing to the miscommunication.

Also, the other handicapped students as mentioned above would get the extra time. The association expressed gratitude to the board secretary for the clear directive, which, it said would help handicapped students in a major way.
