A Court of Inquiry probing charges of sexual harassment against a serving Major General has found “enough evidence” to proceed further against the officer, Army sources said on Monday. Maj Gen A.K. Lal is being probed for sexually harassing a subordinate woman officer. Both were serving in Leh when the charges were leveled.
“If the officer is found guilty, a court martial will be conducted,” sources added. The Army removed Maj Gen A.K. Lal of the 3 Infantry Division from Leh in September after there were charges of alleged misconduct against him. “Captain Neha Rawat had complained to Northern Command chief Lt Gen H.S. Panag in a letter. Lt Gen Panag has ordered an inquiry into the incident,” said a source.
After the completion of the inquiry, the authorities will proceed further against Lal.
