It’s a sorry state of affairs. As it is the organisers are facing a dearth of volunteers. And with the kind of treatment being meted out to the volunteers, it is quite evident that the Games officials simply do not want to recognise the efforts of those who have been working through day and night in order to provide best possible facilities to the athletes.

Aarti Dhankar, Service Manager at Ramjas College, said: "Broadly, there are many left. The staff has been working for months now, still . Nobody has their accreditation cards as yet. I am worried. And now the police have beefed up the security. As a result the non-accreditated staff is now prohibited from entering the venue."
