Hazare can't afford to risk his anti-corruption movement at this moment. He will face many challenges from various political parties, which will try to weaken his agitation. But Hazare and his colleagues shouldn't lose their focus.

2. Hazare's attempts to convince voters to vote against the Congress defy logic. On what basis is Hazare singling out the Congress when all political parties are equally corrupt? Anna and Co should have waited till the winter session of Parliament when, as the UPA has assured them, the Lokpal Bill will be tabled. The social activist's strategy dilutes his earlier stand on corruption and may have consequences.

Some plane truths about MiGs
Air Chief NAK Browne's blaming pilots for MiG 21 crashes is shocking (IAF chief blames rookie pilots for MiG crashes, October 9). The truth is that MiG 21 fighter jets are outdated. There are serious technical problems in the MiG 21 type, which has earned it the reputation of being a 'flying coffin'. But India continues to use them, jeopardising the safety of the nation as well as pilots. Such comments by a senior Air Force officer only add insult to injury for the families of the pilots who have lost their lives in MiG crashes.
