Employing children can't be ignored as a minor issue
With reference to the editorial Not work for a small child (Our Take, April 5), the incident of a doctor couple mistreating their domestic help is shocking. This should be a wake-up call for people who employ minors to do menial work like washing clothes, rolling bidis or making firecrackers. We must discourage the parents of such children from sending them to work at a tender age.

Media's manipulating the truth
This refers to the report Govt trashes coup report, army denies breach of rules (April 5). There seems to be some miscommunication between the Indian Army and the civilian government, which the media is exploiting to its advantage. The media should have verified the facts and the authenticity of such a report, which has the potential to sully India's global reputation.

Dismissing the reports on the movement of two army units towards Delhi on January 16 won't help. The army chief, the defence minister and the prime minister should not mince any words and come up with a convincing explanation. The media should put pressure on the government to clear the air on the matter at the earliest.
