Pakistan's actions show it is not serious about the peace process
This refers to the report Pak crosses LoC, beheads one jawan, slits another's throat (January 9). The killing of two Indian soldiers inside Indian territory near the Line of Control (LoC) proves that Pakistan wants to derail the peace process which is being pursued by India. New Delhi must take Islamabad to task for this inhuman act. We should put all cross-border trade, cultural and sports activities on hold until Islamabad assures the world that its army won't cross the LoC again and won't fire at Indian soldiers without any provocation.

Asaram should be taught a lesson
The editorial In godmen, we don't trust (Our Take, January 9) is right in censuring Asaram Bapu for his insensitive remarks on the Delhi rape incident. His suggestions that the victim should have begged for mercy, taken the name of god and called the rapists her brothers to prevent the rape are absurd and downright insulting. And he didn't stop there. The godman went on to call the media 'barking dogs' when they criticised him. Asaram Bapu should not be allowed to get away with his remarks. As the editorial rightly states, the police should probe the workings of his ashrams and take up the case of the death of two boys in one of his ashrams in 2008.
