Additional Chief Secretary and Chairman of Meghalaya State Electricity Board WMS Pariat will be the next Chief Secretary of Meghalaya.
Official sources said Pariat, a 1977 batch IAS officer, will take over charge from Ranjan Chatterjee on November 1.

The sources said that Chatterjee had expressed his desire to take up his new assignment as a consultant in the Planning Commission.
