With the new complex spread in about 1.5 acres, residents will now be able to hold community functions and enjoy sports and other recreational activities together.

Apart from three halls, with two of them air-conditioned, the building has open space for sports and other activities. Facilities for badminton and table tennis have already been opened for the residents.

The residents are all very happy with the initiative. “Indeed it was very much required. But the important thing is if they would let the residents utilise the same in a decent way than there is nothing like it,” said PK Aggarwal, one of the residents.

A student of class 9, who lives in the colony, said: "It is good, now we can enjoy indoor games here and utilise our summer vacations to the fullest."

Sudhir Kapoor, General Secretary, DLF City resident welfare association, said: "The community has been waiting for this from last many years. The bhoomi Pujan (foundation stone-laying ceremony) of the same was done nearly four years back."

The developer also said: “We are planning to have a programme manager in the community centre to help the residents in making arrangements for any event.”
