MAJOR GENERAL Ashok Khosla inaugurated a war widow home in Gyanghar near Gorkha Recruitment Depot on Friday. The aim of the home is to provide the widows, whose husbands have laid down their lives in war, with shelters.

The widows, who are leading a hard life in Nepal and others areas after their husbands attained martyrdom and have no other sources of income to survive, will be brought here.
Speaking on the occasion, Maj Gen Khosla applauded the work that was started by Bharat-Nepal Maitri Samaj with the officials of the Gorkha Recruitment Depot.
Khosla said that Brigadier CP Thapa VSM and in-charge of the deport would leave not stone unturned to ensure the success of the programme. He said that war widow home was a welfare scheme for the Army personnel and it would be the torchbearer for the war widows who are living in parts of the country.
Khosla said that he had studied the proposal and would discuss it with other officials to develop rehabilitation centre for war widows who have no shelter and no source of income.
