The Special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court on Monday issued non-bailable warrants against the absconding accused in the Malegaon blasts case after the prosecution moved an application in the court.
“The court has accepted the application moved by us seeking non-bailable warrant against three wanted accused”, said special public prosecutor Rohini Salian. Two of the three are Ramnarayan Singh alias Ramji Kalsangra, who allegedly planted the explosives-laden motorcycle in Malegoan and Sandeep Dhange. The name of the third accused was not revealed in the court.
The Anti Terrorism Squad sought custody of Sudhakar Chaturvedi contending that he was an active member of the Abhinav Bharat and it needs to verify his bank records in various banks. The prosecution also said the reports about the contents of the laptops, mobile phones, and pen drives are awaited.
However, the MCOCA court asked the prosecution to move the regular court for seeking the custody.
The court also allowed the application moved by Dayanand Pandey alias Swami Amritanand seeking some materials to perform his routine rituals.
The court also sent all the accused, including Pragya Singh Thakur and Lt. Col. Shrikant Prasad Purohit, to judicial custody till January 6.
