Water - Every Drop Counts

This video film takes a look at golf courses in Japan and what it takes to maintain them.

With demand for water increasing and likely to double in the next two decades, it ought to be top priority for all countries across the globe. This video takes a look at Japan where golf courses have sprung up at an alarming rate, given its popularity. Maintaining a course requires high consumption of pesticides (seven times more than intensive agriculture) which ultimately makes its way to the underground water systems of the area. Another case in point are the two dams at Lesotho in South Africa built to supply water and electricity to South Africa. Trouble is these dams and tunnels have caused massive upheaval for the indigenous farmers.
