We achieved all our targets, except win: Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly, said that his team had achieved all its targets in the World Cup except for winning in the finals.

Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly, said on Tuesday that his team had achieved all its targets in the World Cup except for winning in the finals.

Ganguly who flew into his hometown from Mumbai to an affectionate welcome at the N S C Bose International Airport said "It was a happy tournament for us. The only disappointment for us was that we did not win the finals ... I think we played very well. We won nine out of 11 games."

Asked whether the Indian team had been able to fulfil all the tasks that it had set before itself, Ganguly replied "Yes ... Except probably winning the finals."

Ganguly, who was carrying his daughter Sana in his arms, after reaching here with wife, Dona, father, Chandi besides BCCI chief Jagmohan Dalmiya admitted "359 runs put up by the Aussies was a bit too much. We did not bowl well."

Asked whether the Indian team planned to continue with sports pschologist Sandy Gordon, whose services definitely benefitted the team in South Africa, he said "let see what happens."

Asked about India's preparations for the tri-nation tournament in Bangladesh next month, Ganguly said "there is still time left" and confirmed that he was available.

"I have been playing continuosly for two years and I am looking forward to a break," he said.
