We are all light. We cannot escape it. If we escape it, we escape into darkness. Darkness is not a state of being but a state of non-being. You cannot escape into non-being…after you were born in the human form. If nevertheless you do escape into non-being, it is a terrible loss to the universe and yourself. You have then betrayed your destiny. It is as simple as that. And as fundamental.
And who wants to escape it. We want to realise it. At least partly. Actually, we want to realise it wholly. The reason is that, by being born in the human form, we are already partly realised. How do we go about realising light in us? By coming closer and closer to the source. How do we know that we are coming closer to the source? The closer you come to it, the more conscious you become of it.
What is the source? And where is it? Whenever you are touched by the source you are elated. Even a partial recognition of the source makes you smile inwardly. This is one manifestations of the source. The source is not far away from you, yet is deeply hidden from you. The life of peace means being close to the source. The life of bliss means being closer still. The life of ultimate self-realisation means being there.
When you are in despair or during the dark hours of the soul, you are far away from the source. And you are far away from your inner light. The two are intimately connected. Is it possible that it is so simple — that despair and being lost in life — simply signify that you have lost your inner light? Yes, the truth of the matter is that simple. But the process leading to despair is long. And the process of regaining light is also long and arduous; and partly heroic — until you see that light is part of your being and life. Are there some clinics for regaining light? You are the best laboratory in which it can be done.
