'We didn't want a divorce between Priyanka & Rizwanur'

Industrialist Ashok Todi, main accused in the mysterious death of computer graphis teacher Rizwanur Rehman, has said his family did not want a divorce between his daughter Priyanka and Rehman.

"We did not want divorce. But Pappu (a family friend of the Todis) made the proposal. We wanted to know if Rizwan's family wanted divorce", Todi said.

He claimed Pappu had demanded money for himself and the Rehman family.

"We gave money. We wanted to check whether Rehman accepts it or not", Todi told CNN-IBN.

Rehman had married Priyanka in August this year and his body was found beside a rail track in Kolkata in September.
