India cricket coach John Wright said on Monday the home side needed to improve their performance in the next two crunch games against Australia and New Zealand in the ongoing tri-series to qualify for the final.
"We got quite a lot of improvement in us from performance point of view and we need that", Wright told a news conference here. Asked about what he thought were India's gains in the tournament so far, he said it was too early to talk about it. "This is an important week", he said.
Wright said speedster Zaheer Khan did not train yesterday as he had chest infection but is okay on Monday.
On preparations for the Wednesday's tie against Australia here, he said the Indian team practised hard yesterday and had another round of comprehensive nets on Monday.
