Bainsala told Hindustan Times in Pilu Pura village, 60 km from Bharatpur, "The opposition has forgotten its role, and the government has lost control of the state. That is why unarmed, innocent people are being killed with impunity. We want the Central government to intervene."

As his men went on a rampage on the railway tracks, removing the plates and dislodging the tracks and torching sundry bushes in the nearby fields, Bainsala remained seated a stone's throw away, surrounded by a group of followers. Unfazed. "It's unfortunate what has happened in Sikandra".

A charred police vehicle, testimony to Friday's violence, still remains in the middle of the road in the village. With hundreds and hundreds of Gujjars spread all across the fields around the railway track and the Bayana-Hindaun road, the law enforcement agencies have not been able to penetrate the Gujjar base since Friday.
