Australian captain Ricky Ponting sent the alarm bells ringing in the rival camps when he said that his team could could have played much better than during the 127-run victory against the West Indies on Sunday.
"It was a good result but I still don't think we played our best cricket. But it is a bit hard to judge," Ponting said after Australia's victory in the day-night final at the Kinrara Oval.
The three-time world champions posted a competitive 240 for six and then dismantled the Windies line up for 113 in 34.2 overs to win the triseries.
The Australians treated the series as a tune up for the Champions Trophy in India, fielding a variety of pre-planned team combinations in the league matches.
"We think whatever side we put on the park is a good side to win," the 30-year old Ponting said.
"We have been successful with our experiments. It has been a good exercise and very satisfying."
Australia have never won the biennial Champions Trophy since its inception in 1998.

{{/usCountry}}"It will be in our mind, we want to win the tournament. We have the squad in place and we have played in Indian conditions before," Ponting said.
The event is to be held from October 7 to November 5.
Ponting said his team stuck to its philosophy of batting first although teams have done differently in recent times.
"Lots of teams like to bat second now but we stuck to what works for us," he said.
