Weather may play a crucial role in the behaviour of the Test wicket being prepared for the inaugural tie between India and Pakistan starting at PCA stadium on March 8.

With freak weather conditions persisting in the region for the past few days, pitch curator Daljit Singh hopes that the weather clears up in a day or two so that wicket can dry up fully.
"We are committed to give a good Test wicket and we will do that. However, we will like to see that the weather improves soon and there is some warmth for better results," he said.
Asked that weather forecast for the next two days available with the Chandigarh Meteorological Department does not give out much hope, he said, "We will like to keep our fingers crossed as regards weather, but we are watching things closely and will work accordingly."
Mohali wicket, which has the reputation of extracting good bounce and some turn as well towards the end of the match will need a healthy dose of sunshine to make the Test an exciting encounter.
Meanwhile, the met-department said that there was a western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir adjoining Himachal Pradesh because of which more rain or snow has been forecast for many places in Himachal Pradesh.
