Rakesh Agarwal, Managing Director, Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess Training (FIAT), says that the institute provides good exposure to students who wish to make a career in the in-flight service industry.
What are the qualities required to become an airhostess? What is the kind of training given to students?
An airhostess should be patient, committed and have a cheerful demeanour. The person should be prepared to work hard and be polite under all circumstances. At FIAT, we train students to become accustomed to international standards. Frankfinn is the only institute that has 25 branches across the country.
We have engaged renowned professionals from different streams. In addition to Basic Cabin Crew Training, the company offers training workshops in Customer Care, Time Management, Personality Development and Communication Skills.
What are the topics included in the curriculum?
The curriculum has been designed in such a way that students are able to face the toughest interviews in Aviation, Hospitality and Travel. The curriculum also includes swimming and training in the Computerised Reservation Systems (CRS) of Airlines/ Travel and Hotel industries. Much emphasis is given to extra-curricular activities. The idea is that a candidate who graduates from FIAT should be able to perform well in any industry.
Do you offer placement services?
The airline industry is going through a growth phase. With more and more international flights touching down in India, students will have a lot of options. Our institute does not offer any job guarantees. However, we have a placement cell, which assists candidates in getting jobs. We provide support for 18 months after completion of the course. We have a separate Job Assistance Department as well.
