Ashima and Leena Singh's Fall/Winter 2005 collection for the Lakme India Fashion Week will see a profusion of western silhouettes. With this the designer duo moves away from Indian ethnic or Indo-westerns, which have been their trademark so far.

"Even though India and Indian inspirations are big on the international ramp, the silhouettes are western. That is why we've decided to showcase western silhouettes this year. Of course, there will be a smattering of Indian sensibility, which will be reflected in our fabrics and embroidery," said Ashima, after the preview of their collection at The Imperial.
To go with the clothes, the duo has created a jewellery line for the fashion week in silver, gold-plated silver and semi-precious stones. "The beauty of the jewellery is that it can also be worn with any outfit after being adjusted with the help of a buttonhole and a hook," adds Ashima.
The collection comprises of trousers, long coats, short jackets, layered skirts and dresses in hues of red, olive, green and burgundy.
