The moon shadowed the sun, turning day into night, in a total solar eclipse on Wednesday that carved a path from the tip of Brazil over northern Africa to the steppes of Mongolia.

In Delhi, a partial eclipse was seen between 4.30 pm and 6 pm. Tagore International School, East of Kailash, organised a solar eclipse viewing programme for its students in the school.
Vaibhav, who even made a presentation on the eclipse, beamed after seeing the the day plunge into darkness, “It was not quite similar to what has been written in textbooks. The bright ring around the eclipse was not visible.

But it was exciting.” Harsh, who also saw the spectacle said, “It was marvellous.” Both, are part of the astronomy club of the school, which holds monthly workshops. The school started the astronomy club earlier this year.
