Lewis Hamilton was clearly a happy man after the British Formula One star beat seven-times world champion Michael Schumacher during the last test drive of the year.
Hamilton, 22, exploded onto the Formula One scene in his debut season and just missed out on winning this year's World Drivers Championship.
He finished second in a test drive in Spain on Thursday, but was still 0.554 seconds faster than Schumacher.
Schumacher, 38, who retired in 2006, was test driving for his former team Ferarri in Jerez and finished eighth with BMW driver Robert Kubica fastest over the 87 laps.
"It was a special feeling to experience seeing Michael back in a Formula One car again," Hamilton told German tabloid Bild.
The British star answered with a simple smile when he was asked what it was like to be faster than the German legend.
The attraction of seeing Hamilton and Schumacher go head-to-head, even in testing, still drew more than 25,000 fans to the track in south-west Spain as it was a public holiday.
His former Ferarri team-mate Brazilian Felipe Massa, who finished third fastest, was impressed with "Schumi" and while testing has finished for this year, Schumacher is expected to help his former side again next year.
