The first-ever Olympics for Animals was held at a mall in Indonesia where the winners trotted off with cash prizes and medals. The event has been recorded as the first of its kind in the country by the Museum of Indonesian Records (MURI), said a representative.

At least 50 animal owners took part in the event held at the Karawaci Supermall Education Center in Tanggerang yesterday as a part of the ‘Explore The Wild Adventure Only’.

The events were classified into five categories — ‘Hamster Racer’, ‘Run Turtles Run’, ‘Dog’s Competition’, ‘White Rabbit Can’t Jump’ and ‘Dog’s Showcase’. Medals and cash were given away to the winners.

The big dogs include Golden Retrievers, Rottweilers, Labradors, Pitbulls and mini-dogs like Shih Tzu and Miniature Pinshers.
