Disapproving former Indian coach John Wright's reference to a dressing room incident involving Virender Sehwag in his book, cricketing legend Kapil Dev on Wednesday said there was no point in making the matter public three years after it happenned.
Speaking to newspersons in Chandigarh, Kapil said the matter should have been settled then itself.
Though the world cup winning skipper did not openly say if Wright had raked up the issue to help sales of his book, he wondered why a controversy was being sought to be raised three years after the incident happened.
Wright in his book Indian Summers had written that he lost his cool and had barked on Sehwag after he threw away his wicket recklessly in a NatWest trophy match against Sri Lanka.
When asked to comment on John Wright's book, he quipped, "Who is John Wright. I have not read the book and have no intentions to read it either," he said further.
When Kapil was asked to comment on India's prospects in the ODI series in Sri Lanka, he said, "playing in Lanka is going to be challenging. The team should play like a unit".
Asked if Indian team should decide to call off the tour given the present security scenario in the island nation, Kapil said it was either for the Indian government or the country's cricket Board to decide.

{{/usCountry}}Kapil expressed his happiness with Sachin Tendulkar's return to the team. "His presence should come as a big boost to the team. I hope that this time he stays in the team for a more consistent period and everybody is looking forward to see his bat do the talking."
On Twenty-20 cricket, he said it remains to be seen how the concept goes down over the coming years.
