Nagma, who was asked by Yadav to come down to Delhi to meet Central Congress leaders, breezed in with hair open in AICC general secretary in charge of party affairs for M P V Narayansami’s chamber.

The veteran Congress leader was taken aback. Overcoming the surprise, he decided to ask questions, which he knew Nagma couldn’t answer. Tell me names of 10 residents of Vidisha district? he asked. Nagma was stunned. Sami then politely asked her to leave.

However, the episode didn’t deter Yadav from pushing Nagma’s candidature to party president Sonia Gandhi for Vidisha seat. Sonia Gandhi grew angry. “You are party president of the State. You should understand sentiments of party workers before recommending anybody’s name. She does not know anybody in Vidisha and you are insisting on her candidature,” she reprimanded Yadav.

Now all eyes are on the report to be submitted by Principal Secretary, Commercial Tax, GP Singhal, on the incident. Wait for the report is giving sleepless nights to some officers associated with protocol section.

Such aversion!
Woman and Child Development Minister Kusum Mahadele was not prepared to let in Principal Secretary OP Rawat for even two weeks in her department. Her aversion for the officer is intriguing.

When Principal Secretary in Mahdele’s department, Prashant Mehta, proceeded on two-weeks leave, OP Rawat was given the additional charge. No sooner the Minister learnt about it she was all fire and brimstone. She was pacified only when Rawat’s order was cancelled. Now, Mehta’s additional charge has been given to R N Berwa.

Madam’s fear
The recently concluded Ojaswani Mela at Bittan market got wide publicity. Big names were associated with it; be they big organisations or politicians or recipient of awards. One organisation that made the show a grand success, however, remained in the background.

It was Bhopal Municipal Corporation. The BMC staff worked hard to avert possible wrath of Urban Development Minister Jayant Mallaiya’s wife Sudha. A BMC officer admitted that the staff feared the madam more than her husband who is quite an affable man.

Neighbours’ envy
BMC chairman Ramdayal Prajapati’s greenhouse (E-9) in 45 Bungalows is a glaring example of abuse of power. For months, his neighbours had to negotiate through the building construction materials strewn all over the road while walking. Neighbours speculate that the renovation must have cost almost equal the money that would have bought a new bungalow of similar size. But why should Ramdayal Prajapati care?

It wasn’t money from his pocket. What is the good of being chairman if the BMC can’t be milked to convert an ordinary E-type house to a veritable palace?

Prajapati has only emulated the example of former Speaker Sriniwas Tiwari who had his bungalow in the locality altered so drastically that it is now bigger than a B-type bungalow.
