An Anil Ambani firm has alleged that the placing of pebbles and gravel in the gear box of his chopper was an attempt to kill the industrialist.

The pebbles were found on Thursday evening during the servicing of a Bell 412 helicopter owned by Ambani’s Reliance Transport and Travels Pvt Ltd. The ‘contaminants’ could have led to a crash. Ambani was scheduled to take the helicopter to Navi Mumbai, on Friday.

“The planned manner ... shows some persons, possible business rivals, were attempting to take the life of Anil Ambani,” said a Reliance Transport and Travels complaint to the chief minister, commissioner and Joint Commissioner of Police.
