"Pakistan is repeatedly violating the ceasefire, but the government is not reacting. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said they will give an answer, but why are they silent now? They need to understand that it is time to react now, as the country cannot tolerate anymore," Alvi said.

"Pakistan is now making tunnels at our border which is dangerous. The government should take strict action," he added.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Tariq Anwar also questioned the government over its claim that things had changed since Narendra Modi came into power.

"Even after Prime Minister Modi came into power, there is no change in Pakistan's approach. The government should take strict action and tell them this will not be tolerated. If it is true that that a tunnel is being made at the LoC, then the government should give the message that strict action will be taken," Anwar said.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi described the ceasefire violations as very unfortunate.
