Sunny Deol has been ordered by the Film Makers’ Combine, an association of film producers, to pay producer Suneel Darshan Rs. 1.17 crore plus interest thereon for six years.

Sunny had borrowed about Rs. 50 to 60 lakh from Darshan six years ago when he had launched a film in London and titled London. It was shelved mid-way. Sunny, perhaps, thought that like he had forgotten the film, Suneel Darshan would forget his loan to the actor. Obviously, that didn’t happen and when, after a number of requests, Sunny refused to refund Darshan’s money, the producer dragged him to the producers’ association.

Ultimately, the Film Makers’ Combine passed an ex parte order last week, directing Sunny to return Suneel’s monies alongwith interest. Besides the loan, Sunny would also have to pay Darshan half the amount of remuneration promised to him by Sunny for utilising his services as a production hand.
