Wi-fi facility opened at NLIU

PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL Law Institute University (NLIU) has become the first national law institute in the country to have wi-fi (wireless fibre) system. MP High Court Chief Justice AK Patnaik inaugurated the facility at the academic block of the institute on Sunday.

The wi-fi facility is one of its kind and is rarely available in other educational institutions including law schools of India. Justice Patnaik also laid the foundation stone for the second boys’ hostel of the NLIU. A host of dignitaries and legal luminaries were present at the stone laying ceremony.

The new hostel will have 152 single accommodation rooms. The hostel will be spread over an area of 43,000 square feet. The estimated cost of its construction is Rs 3.50 crore. The hostel will also have a separate mess and recreational facilities for students.

The wi-fi facility, installed by M P State Electronic Development Corporation, would enable the students to surf the internet on their personal computers and laptop anywhere in the campus. Officiating Director of the institute Dr S Surya Prakash welcomed the Chief Justice on the occasion and requested him to bless the student community with his words of wisdom.

Prof CM Jariwal expressed gratitude towards the Chief Justice for sparing his valuable time for the students from his busy schedule.
