Widespread protests against terror attacks

TUESDAY?S TERROR strikes in Mumbai and Srinagar continued to draw criticism from a cross section of the society here in Varanasi on Thursday. Activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party organised a condolence meeting for the victims of terror attack and observed Thursday as black day. BJP activists also staged dharna at Azad Park in Lahurabeer area and at district headquarters to register their protest against increasing terrorists attack across the country.

TUESDAY’S TERROR strikes in Mumbai and Srinagar continued to draw criticism from a cross section of the society here in Varanasi on Thursday.

Activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party organised a condolence meeting for the victims of terror attack and observed Thursday as black day. BJP activists also staged dharna at Azad Park in Lahurabeer area and at district headquarters to register their protest against increasing terrorists attack across the country.

Addressing a gathering at Azad Park, Mahanagar president of BJP, Kailash Keshari, alleged that the Union government had failed to counter terrorism. He demanded from the President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam to suspend the Union government with immediate effect.

The BJP activists wore black ribbons on their arms to register their protest. BJP Yuva Morcha activists also torched the effigy of Union Railway Minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav, for poor security in railways.

BJP MLA, Shyam Deo Roy Chaudhary, Dr. Jyotsana Srivastava, president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Vivek Narayan Singh, Ravi Shanker Singh, state executive council member of BJP, Ashok Pandey and Shanker Giri were among other prominent leaders who addressed the dharna and criticised Tuesday’s terrorist attack.

Bachanu Ram Patel, Rakesh Trivedi, Ajay Kumar Singh, Ram Prakash Dubey, Sadanand Patel, Ajay Kumar Singh, Arvind Patel and Subedar Pandey were among other prominent BJP leaders who staged dharna at the district headquarters today.

District Youth Congress Committee also staged a dharna at Nati Imali area to protest Tuesday’s serial blasts. Arun Kumar Mishra, Avanish Tripathi, Rajesh Singh, Rajkumar Yadav and Mukti Nath Jha were among others who staged dharna.

Members of the International Human Rights Protection Bureau held a meeting today and flayed terrorism growing across the country. Members of Akhil Bhartiya Goswami Brahman Mahasabha also criticised the terrorist attack in Mumbai and Srinagar.
