The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will be conducting draw of lots of the 3500 flats that were put on offer as part of the Housing Scheme 2006 in the last week of December.

The scheme was launched in August after a gap of over a year and has received a whopping 1.9 lakh applications for 3500 flats.

Asma Manzar, DDA commissioner (Housing) said, “We have completed the scrutiny of forms and would be conducting the draw of lots in the last week of December.”

Senior DDA officials said that they would start dispatching the refund cheques for all those who did not qualify by January 12. Applicants had to submit a registration amount of Rs 1.5 lakhs along with the form.

Of the 3500 flats which will be sold there are 980 flats in the three bedroom category and 2352 flats in the two bedroom category.The maximum number of flats – 1400 —in both three and two bedroom category is located in Dwarka followed by another 1000 flats in the two bedroom category in Rohini. Besides there are 147 expandable flats.

In an all time high, DDA has priced 66 three bedroom flats in Motia Khan in central Delhi between Rs 49.5 lakh to Rs 55.8 lakhs. While the price of remaining three bedroom flats in Sarita Vihar and Dwarka range between Rs 30.8 lakh to Rs 46.1 lakh.

Prior to this, the maximum price range at which the agency had sold flats in the three bedroom category was between Rs 24 lakh and Rs 27 lakh in Vasant Kunj in 2002-2003.

In the last housing scheme which was launched in 2004, DDA had priced its three bedroom flats between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 21 lakh. The agency had put 2500 flats were on offer and at that time it had received a total 1,64,095 applications.
